I travel to many varied locations and work on many computers other than my own. While working, I like to listen to music without vocals, mostly classical and modern classical pieces. Thus, I was lugging around quite a few CDs. "Why did you carry all those CDs around when you can download almost anything over the Internet?", you ask. The first reason is that computer etiquette dictates that I do not download anything from the Internet to a computer that is not mine. Two, music files are the favored vehicle for all sorts of malicious programs, viruses and trojans. A computer system could be infected very quickly by downloading unverified music files. So, how was I to have my favorite music available to me anywhere I happened to be? And, how could I listen safely without downloading any of the files to the hard drive? After several weeks of working on this problem, I finally had an idea on how to do it. Psychologists say that listening to instrumental music stimulates the creative side of your brain. I am not sure if that is true, but I have been able to conceive, develop and design some pretty amazing projects while under the influence of good music. And the work seems to proceed at an amazing speed. The music apparently helps me conserve energy so I feel less drained at the end of the day! Many times while sitting at a computer working, people would come by and ask what I was listening to and ask me for the address or URL. Before long they were regular listeners too. The original name of my website was " My Music Library." Wanting to expand the site for everyone's enjoyment, I came up with the name of WAXA Classical.com. Visitors can freely listen to any of the MP3 music files, however, music cannot be downloaded to your computer. The music selections are public domain or copyright free MP3 music that is available from the Internet. Music cannot be purchased from this site. Any information we have about purchasing a particular piece of music will be provided on the Links page, as well as links to Amazon.com - Mymusic.com, Barnes and Noble, and any other online links for that purpose.
